Riders raise a spectacular £4400 for local charities

29 November 2021

Last Saturday over 50 members and instructors joined us for our Charity Spinathon and we are delighted to announce we raised £4,400 for our member chosen local charities, The MS Therapy Centre & The Tibbs Dementia Foundation. We are thrilled with the fantastic amount raised, which was down to the hard work and dedication of so many people.

We will start by thanking those who put the programme together and without whom the event couldn’t run! Instructors Jason, Emma, Hazel, Louise, Maija and Natalie led the five classes, and all brought their own unique styles of teaching, music and outfits! They all gave their time for free, so a massive thank you to them and Fitness Manager Katy for putting together an achievable and hugely enjoyable programme.

Next up we would like to thank every member who took part, whether for one class or all five – you all helped make the afternoon a brilliant success. There so was much energy, enthusiasm, warmth, and positivity coming from the studio, we wish we could bottle it!

A big thank you also to everyone who has donated. Seeing the total go up really helped motivate those doing all 5 classes as the instructors updated riders on the amount raised throughout the afternoon.

And finally, thanks to all the staff at the Club who helped pull it all together including the Club Lounge team for the delicious celebratory buffet that we enjoyed afterwards!

We look forward to presenting both charities with a large cheque at the end of our fundraising year (August 2022) as we know the money will make such a difference to so many local people.

Sore legs but happy hearts! If you’ve been inspired by those getting on the bikes, it’s not too late to donate at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/clubtowerscharityspinathon2021

Here’s to next year!  We are sure some of you are plotting your outfits already….

Our next social event is our Christmas celebration which takes place at the Club on Friday 10th December. We have a number of activities planned including a Christmas themed mash up class and a Christmas jumper tennis tournament.  For our junior members we have festive arts & a crafts and a multi-sports session and a visit from Father Christmas. Our Christmas Raffle (also raising money for The Tibbs Dementia Foundation & The MS Therapy Centre) is on sale now at Reception and this will be drawn on the 10th after Christmas carols with the Bedford Modern Singers around the Christmas tree.  You can find out more about the evening at Reception or on our website here.
