Over £1,680 raised at Charity Cake & Coffee Morning – a New Record

3 November 2022

We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who attended our recent charity cake and coffee morning, held on Saturday 22nd October.  Thanks to member and staff generosity, we are delighted to announce we raised a spectacular £1,684 – yet another new record for our coffee mornings! Simply outstanding!!! Money was raised on the morning through cake sales and fifty percent of all hot drink sales (donated by the Club).

Heartfelt thanks also goes to all the staff and members who baked for us, along with Missibakes, Gunns Bakery, La Rondine, Bookers & Kate’s Amazebites for their donations; it is greatly appreciated and we simply couldn’t do it without your support. We had a huge selection of cakes and sweet treats, leaving everyone spoilt for choice.

This is a great start to our fundraising for our newly chosen member charities, the Sue Ryder Hospice in Moggerhanger and the Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled.

For those that aren’t familiar with the two charities, the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger provides expert care for life-limiting conditions.  They help with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help supporting people through the most difficult times of their lives and the Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled provide therapeutic riding sessions for disabled and special needs participants. Mainly catering for young riders, the centre offers new skills, fitness, confidence building, postural therapy and most importantly fun!

We hope everyone enjoyed their cake(s!) and coffee.  Our next charity event is our Spinathon which takes place on the 19th November, if you need to burn off some of that cake and can spare some time, we have spaces in some classes – find out more at www.clubtowers.com/spinathon2022

Here are a few pictures from a lovely morning:
