Bedford Squash Academy Growing from Strength to Strength

22 July 2024

This last week saw us come to the end of another term for Bedford Squash Academy and what a brilliant term it’s been!  We now have 12 juniors playing squash regularly with us, with new children joining each term.  Everyone one has worked so hard, and we’ve seen some great improvement and, more importantly, lots of fun and friendships made!

We’ve also seen four children invited to the County Development Squad: Nathaniel, Thomas, Omar and Milan.  Well done boys!  A fantastic achievement!  And two players, Thomas and Milan, entered our annual Bedford Schools Competition at Bedford School in May and they both played really well.  A very positive competitive experience, which hopefully encouraged them to want to compete again!

Their coach Sam Morris said: “It’s been a really good term for all the children. Squash is such a great sport for kids, developing loads of different skills, and to see so many enjoying it and improving fast is really rewarding. I’m looking forward to September already!”

Lucky for Sam (and the juniors!) it’s not too long to wait! We are back for the Autumn term on Friday 6th September at Mowsbury Squash and Golf Club. The sessions are suitable for both beginners and intermediate players aged 8 – 13 and the first few sessions are free.  The sessions are open to all children: you do not have to be Club Towers members, but you can be!  All equipment is provided for newcomers.
