May Bank Holidays at the Club – What you need to know

Sunny May (we hope!) has lots of Bank Holidays so we thought we would summarise our opening hours and other Bank Holiday information in one place.  The Club remains open as per our usual Bank Holiday opening hours from 8am to 8pm, but some facilities are reduced.  We will start with the Spring Bank Holiday….

Monday 1st May

  • Club Opening Hours – 8am – 8pm.
  • Club Lounge – front of house service from 8am – 8pm; kitchen will be open from 8.30am with last orders at 2.30pm.  Do look out for our Coronation Specials during this week.
  • Swimming timetable remains unchanged apart from no Aqua classes.  Junior swimming lessons WILL take place – Swimming Timetable – Club Towers
  • Junior racquets coaching will run as usual, including Tennis Tots.
  • There will be a reduced group exercise timetable, please check the app for the most up to date information.
  • Our Creche is open from 9am to 12pm. Please contact Toni directly on [email protected] for availability.
  • Off-peak members will have access to the Club at their usual times.
  • Super Off-peak members will have access from 5.30pm to 8pm.  

Saturday 6th May

  • Club Opening Hours – 7am – 8pm.
  • Club Lounge – front of house service from 8am – 8pm; kitchen will be open from 8.30am with last orders at 2.30pm. The Coronation coverage will be on the television in the Club Lounge.
  • Swimming timetable is a usual Saturday timetable – Swimming Timetable – Club Towers
  • Junior racquets coaching is on as usual.
  • Our Creche is open from 8.30am to 12.30pm as usual. Please contact Toni directly on [email protected] for availability.

Sunday 7th May

  • Club Opening Hours – 8am – 8pm.
  • Club Lounge – front of house service from 8am – 8pm; kitchen will be open from 8.30am with last orders at 11am as we then prepare for our Coronation Celebration BBQ which starts at 1pm running until 5pm.  Marlon and his team are preparing a delicious feast fit for royalty and even more importantly Club Towers members!  There will a variety of meats and salads with individual items and free ice lollies for our little princes and princesses with smaller tummies.
  • As part of the BBQ and celebrations there will be a children’s magician at the Club, with a free magic show for juniors at 2.30pm.  Whilst the show is free, please book your child a space at Reception.  There will also be garden games and the outdoor tennis courts will be open for family games.   • Family splash will run at a slightly changed time of 1 – 3pm, so that you can enjoy the BBQ after a swim.
  • Swimming lessons run as usual on the Sunday morning.

Monday 8th May

  • Club Opening Hours – 8am – 8pm.
  • Club Lounge – front of house service from 8am – 8pm; kitchen will be open from 8.30am with last orders at 2.30pm.  The Coronation coverage will be shown on the TV in the lounge.
  • Swimming timetable remains unchanged apart from no Aqua classes.  Junior swimming lessons WILL take place – Swimming Timetable – Club Towers
  • Junior racquets coaching will run as usual, includng Tennis Tots.

Monday 29th May

  • Club Opening Hours – 8am – 8pm.
  • Club Lounge – front of house service from 8am – 8pm; kitchen will be open from 8.30am with last orders at 2.30pm. 
  • Swimming – the holiday timetable will operate from Monday 29th May to Sunday 4th June with additional adult only swim times from 11am – 1pm every week day apart from on Bank Holiday Monday (29th).
  • Swimming lessons take a break for half term and restart on Monday 5th June.
  • Junior racquets coaching is suspended for half term (including Tennis Tots) – both resume from Monday 5th June.
  • There is a reduced class timetable, please check the app for the most up to date information.
  • Our Creche is open from 9am to 12pm, please contact Toni directly on [email protected] for availability.
  • Off-peak members will have access to the Club at their usual times.
  • Super Off-peak members will have access from 5.30pm to 8pm.  

Other dates to note in May

  • 3rd May – Menopause Support Group 7 – 8pm; this month we will be joined by Menopause nurse Lesley.  You can find out more here.
  • 10th May – Bedford Schools Squash Tournament – run by us and hosted by Bedford School we invite all juniors from all schools in Bedford in years 5 to 11 to compete in this great tournament.  You can find out more here.  Sign up is by the 30th April.
  • 18th May – Ladies Squash and Prosecco evening 7.15 – 8.45pm – a friendly social evening for beginner and intermediate players.  Find out more here.
  • 27th May – ’Grand Slam’ Singles Tennis Tournament – on the eve of the French Open – the first Grand Slam event of 2023, we hold our very own singles tournament. Aimed at our intermediate adult players this fun tournament, provides an opportunity for some competitive play.  Starting at 2pm and FREE to enter, please sign up at Reception now.
