Jubilee Week at Club Towers

The Platinum Jubilee weekend is fast approaching and as always we have lot going on at the Club so we wanted to do a round-up of what’s available for members over this celebratory period.  We will start with the basics…

Club Opening Hours

Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June are Bank Holidays and so our opening hours are 8am to 8pm. 

Swimming

We will be running our holiday swim timetable from Monday 30th May through to Sunday 5th June.  You can find the timetable here.  Please do make a note of the additional adult only swim times when planning your swims. 

Swimming lessons take a break during this time resuming on Monday 6th June.

Club Lounge

Please note that last orders in the kitchen will be earlier than usual at 2pm on the 2nd and 3rd and at the normal time of 4pm on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June.  

To celebrate the Jubilee the Club Lounge team will be putting on a number of specials throughout the week. Look out for these in the Lounge and ask at the counter for more details.

BBQ – Saturday 4th June

We will be hosting our first BBQ of the year on Saturday 4th, with Head Chef Marlon and team serving a variety of meat and fish dishes from 12 noon to 4pm.  No need to book – just turn up and enjoy! Large plates are £15.95 per person and small plates £8.50 per person.

Group Exercise

We will be operating a slightly reduced timetable on the 2nd and 3rd June, so please check the app for the most up to date information.

We are running two special additional classes as “Jubilee Mash-ups”!  Join Katy, Jayden and Carmen on Thursday 2nd and Katy, Jayden and Amanda on Friday 3rd at 11.15am – 12.15pm for a mash up that will include LBT, Zumba/Dance, Body Attack and Body Combat.

The class is suitable for members 14 and over as long as they are with a parent/guardian and will be available to book on the app six days before.

Don’t forget if you are busy and can’t make it into the Club your membership includes access to www.clubtowerslive.com which includes over 20 live classes every week but also a wide variety of on demand classes for you to do at a time that suits you.  If you don’t have your access code, email [email protected] to get one.

Gym

Look out for a Jubilee gym challenge running on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd – details will be on the board at the entrance to the gym if you fancy taking part.

The team will still be offering gym and junior gym floor workouts across the half term week and Jubilee weekend as usual,  please check the app for when these are running. Parent and junior gym will run as usual on weekdays anytime apart from 5.15 – 8.15pm and weekends anytime after 12pm.

Tennis

Junior Tennis

Junior tennis coaching takes a break from Monday 30th May to Sunday 5th June.

Our junior social tennis will run on both 28th May and 4th June.This is aimed at our intermediate and experienced juniors aged 12+ who are looking for fellow juniors to play with.  If your child is interested in getting involved please contact Head Coach Nick Boys on [email protected] or 07810 832774.

Adult Singles Tournament

We start the half term week with an adult’s singles tournament on Saturday 28th May from 2pm to approximately 6pm.  Any players of intermediate playing standard and upwards will enjoy this high energy, competitive tournament. It will involve 3 – 4 knockout rounds leading to a final. Depending on the numbers signed up we plan to run separate men’s and ladies’ tournaments.

Entry is £5 which includes a light buffet in the Club Lounge after the tournament and you can sign up at Reception.

Adult Social Tennis

This will run as usual on Saturday 4th June from 2 – 4pm. No need to book! If you would like to play with fellow members just turn up on the outdoor courts and mix in.

Cardio Tennis

This will take a break for the Bank Holiday and will resume on the 10th June, 6 – 7pm. The class is now open to all members and bookable on the app under “Book Classes”. You can find out more about this class here.

Squash/Racketball

Junior Squash

Junior squash coaching takes a break from Monday 30th May – Sunday 4th June resuming w/c 5th June.

Club Nights

Racketball Club Night will run as usual on Thursday 2nd June, from 5.45 – 7.15pm and we welcome newcomers of all abilities who fancy a game or three.

Squash Club Night will also still be running on Friday 3rd June, 5.45 – 7.15pm – it will have to be a quick pint at the bar before close at 8pm though!  Again, newcomers welcome of all abilities who would like a game with fellow members.

Table Tennis

The table tennis table will be out as usual on both weekends from 2- 8pm. Racquets members can now book the table through the App or client portal.

Multi-Sports

Multi-sports is back for the May/June half term. Coach Tom is running our popular multi-sports session on Monday 30th, Tuesday 31st and Wednesday 1st June from 2pm to 4pm.

These sessions are aimed at juniors aged 4 -11 and are a series of fun, active, sporty games.

Racquets and all equipment are provided, but please do wear clean non marking shoes.

It’s £14 for one session or £39 for all three sessions and you can book at Reception in the Club or on 01234 607111.

Creche

The creche remains open with its usual hours on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th June.

Nutrition Consultations

Coach Ann is taking a short break over the half term but does have some availability for free 20-minute consultations for members.  If you haven’t had one and would like to have an informal chat to discuss your nutrition and lifestyle habits and ask any questions you might have about areas you would like to improve upon, do get in touch via [email protected] to book.
