We all know that exercise is good for our bodies and for our overall wellbeing – but often it feels like our bodies don’t want to play ball! We try exercising and end up with aches and pains or don’t seem to get the results we were hoping to achieve. Personal Trainer & Sports Scientist Mark Allen specialises in the area of injury prevention and runs a 6-week programme several times a year, to help members get the most from their workouts and give them the best chance of avoiding injury. He will be delighted to answer your questions about how best to exercise or the course.

Mark will be available on the settees in the entrance foyer in the times above.  If you can’t make any of the times above but would like to chat to Mark please do send him an email on [email protected] and he will be in touch.

Nutrition Seminar – Diets Don’t Work!  There is a Better Way! with Coach Ann Towers

When – Monday 5th September 7 – 7.45pm

Where – Creche

How – Book on the App under “classes”

Why don’t diets work? Diets work against human nature and behaviour – our habits! They can often make us miserable and whilst they can result in a quick, short-term weight loss, as soon as “normal” behaviour and habits resume the weight comes straight back on.

This seminar looks at how habits are formed and their principles. We then begin to look at how to implement a change process that our mind and body are comfortable with.  Starting with just small five-minute actions that will lead to life changing habits.

Free 15-Minute Consultation with Senior Osteopath – Jason Pinny

When – Tuesday 6th September 4.30 – 6pm

Where – Treatment Room 1

How – To book your appointment, please either call 01234 823621 or email [email protected]

Our partner, North Beds Osteopaths, is offering our members a free 15 minute consultation during that hour and a half with their senior practitioner & founder, Jason Pinny.

Jason will sit down with you and discuss your condition and, if necessary, recommend appropriate action. Jason has been treating back, neck and joint pain for over 35 years and runs the biggest and most successful osteopathic clinic in the area. We are lucky to have him at the Club, so do take advantage of his expertise.

Nutrition Seminar – What Should I Eat & How Much Should I Eat with Coach Ann Towers

When – Tuesday 6th September 7 – 7.45pm

Where – Creche

How – Book on the App under “classes”

These are the most asked questions when people come to our nutrition consultations. The answers can be surprisingly ……. simple!!

This seminar will help those who wish to eat well and make healthy choices but often stand in the kitchen wondering what to eat!  This isn’t about “good” food or “bad” food, nor feeling deprived or going without. The approach is to think of foods in a spectrum, from “eat more” to “eat some” to “eat less”.  This seminar will show examples of food in each category and will help you to make better choices whilst still enjoying the food you love to eat.

We will also be looking at “portion control” – how much to eat. Most people think controlling portions means counting calories, but at Nutrition@ClubTowers, we use our hand as the guide for portion sizes – our hands are portable and in proportion to our own size.   This concept will be discussed further at the seminar.

108 Sun Salutations with Instructor Vicki Young.

When – Wednesday 7th September 1.15 – 2.45pm

Where – Holistic Studio & Live Streamed on www.clubtowerslive.com

How – Book on the App under “classes”

This is an extended practice to allow for a full 108 sun salutations.  Sun salutations are a key part of many vinyasa flow practices, but we rarely get time to do a full sequence of them. This practice will provide the time and space in your life for a full 108 salutations leaving you feeling refreshed and energised.

The class will also be streamed live on Club Towers Live www.clubtowerslive.com and also kept in the On Demand library for you to do at a time that suits you.  All members can have an access code as part of their Club membership. If you don’t have your code and would like one, please email [email protected] and we can send you one.

Menopause Support Group – Q & A Session with Menopause Nurse – Lesley

When – Wednesday, 7th September 7- 8pm

Where – Creche

How – Book on the App under “classes”

At this month’s Menopause Support Group meeting we will be joined by Menopause Nurse and member Lesley Quinn. This will be our first expert-led group meet-up and Nurse Lesley will be happy to answer any questions you may have with regard to menopause and perimenopause. When appropriate, she may provide advice or recommendations on the next steps to take.

Pre- and Post-Natal Exercise Q & A with Personal Trainer Maija Bissett

When – Thursday 8th September 10.30 – 12.30pm

Where – In the foyer

How – You can book your slot at Reception or if you prefer, just turn up on the day. Maija will be pleased to help.

Maija Bissett is part of our PT team in the gym, and one of her specialisations is supporting pre- and post-natal clients with their exercise and nutrition.

Historically, pregnancy used to mean rest (and even bed rest) but the recommendation is now very much to keep moving if possible!  It goes without saying that every woman and pregnancy is different but for most women, being pregnant does not mean you to need to stop exercising. Equally there are many benefits to moving and exercising safely after having a baby, but it can feel daunting coming back to exercise after the birth.

Maija is there to help support members with this and will be available on the settees during the above time to answer any questions you may have about exercising during and after your pregnancy.  If you can’t make this date but would like to ask her anything, please do email Maija, on [email protected] to arrange a different time.

Free 15-Minute Consultation with Senior Physiotherapist – Paulo Martinelli

When – Thursday 8th September 4.00 – 5.30pm

Where – Treatment Room 2

How – To book your appointment, please call 07401 779644 or email [email protected]

Our partner, Quality Health Clinics, is offering our members a free 15 minute consultation during that hour and a half with their senior practitioner & founder, Paulo Martinelli.

Paulo will welcome you into our treatment room and discuss any old or new injuries you may be suffering with, anything which stops you from living your everyday life. He will assess you and then if, necessary, recommend what course of treatment would best suit you. Paulo has a wealth of knowledge and has practised as a Physiotherapist for over 18 years.  Paolo and his team are highly recommended, and this is a great opportunity to meet him and discuss your needs.

Nutrition Seminar – Making Healthy Eating Easier  – A Kitchen Makeover with Coach Ann Towers

When – Thursday 8th September  7 – 7.45pm

Where – Creche

How – Book on the App under “classes”

We aren’t talking major building work – don’t worry!  We are talking about surrounding yourself with the good stuff!  The seminar will take you through how to make small changes to ensure your kitchen offers the best environment for you and your family.  This includes how to make informed food choices, not least how to read (sometimes very confusing!) food labels.

Les Mills Launch
