Santa’s on a Mission to get Fit before Christmas!

3 December 2018

Update – we are delighted to announce that Tom has completed his challenge and raised £1765 for charities, Bedford Open Door, Bedford Hospital’s Charity and The British Heart Foundation.  Well done Tom!  Thank you to everyone who donated and congratulations to those who won prizes!

The festive season is here and for many this means parties, food and drink and general indulgence. It can also be a very busy time, when our fitness falls by the wayside. But this doesn’t have to be the way! With a Club Towers membership, you are in a fantastic position to keep looking after your mind and body, and we are encouraging you to make some time for yourself and get to the Club as much as you can in December.

This year, Father Christmas (aka our PT Tom) will set the example! He has set himself a challenge to attend every class in the High Energy studio for a week. This means he will take part in over 50 classes between the 3rd and 9th December. To add some fun to his very intense challenge, for one class every day he will be dressed as Santa and he will be bringing a sack of goodies with him. Anyone who stops Santa during these lessons can pick a present from his sack. Presents include vouchers for Club Lounge food and drinks, PT sessions and tennis lessons. During his challenge Tom will be raising money for our two member chosen charities Bedford Hospital’s Charity, Bedford Open Door and The British Heart Foundation. Tom’s Dad had serious heart issues last year and hence Tom is obviously very motivated to add the final charity for this fundraising event.

You can find out more about Tom as well as all our personal trainers here www.clubtowers.com/gym If you would like to sponsor Tom, there will be buckets around the club during the week and he has also created a Just Giving page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tom-albone

We hope you are inspired by Tom and will join us in the Club this month. Our full class programme of over 100 classes a week will continue to run right until Christmas Eve when we close at 4pm. It can often be quieter in the Club in December so it’s a great time to try a new class. Class descriptions can be found here – http://clubtowers.com/group-exercise-class-descriptions/ and all can be booked online or at Reception.

If you haven’t been in the Gym for a while, why not book a free review session with one of our personal trainers and get a new programme going that will work for you. Sessions are available every day and can be booked at Reception.

For our Racquets members if you’ve never had a new member welcome, why not book in a free tennis session with one of our coaches, they will assess your playing standard and guide you towards the group sessions that are appropriate to your playing ability. Whatever your ability we have our fun Christmas Jumper tennis tournament on the 14th December from 7-9pm, everyone is very welcome. Please book your free entry at Reception.

If you just need some escapism from the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping and preparation, the Club Lounge will be serving delicious seasonal specials throughout the month of December available to eat in and takeaway. Or book a relaxing facial or treatment at The Retreat upstairs opposite the gym. Please book directly with them on 01234 721187.

Don’t leave your fitness and wellbeing until January! Join Tom in getting a head start on your new year fitness plans and join us in the Club this December and don’t forget to look out for Santa and his sack of presents during the week too!
