Players in High Spirits at Annual Christmas Jumper Tennis Tournament

Twenty festively dressed players turned up to have some fun in our annual Christmas Jumper tournament as part of our member Christmas celebration on Friday 8th December, and what fun we had!

As you can see from our photos there were some great jumpers and outfits on display, and some equally great tennis on the courts. We had a mixture of team and social players that were all in the mood for some festive fun and there was an abundance of laughter around the courts as everyone got in the spirit of the event. Some personal highlights were seeing Krystal chase down 3 lobs side to side, in one rally, and then realise she had to carry on! Missi passing Steve down the line with a killer winner with a happy dance to follow and Jane trying to take Nick out in the first game with a drive volley through his head!

Each round consisted of 3 tie breaks with each player on court and then moving courts to play with different players.  After 3 hard rounds of competition, we had two very close contenders for the prizes. Enzo Chiarelli came runner up on 83 points but it was Tom Hall that ended up the winner with 85 points. Well done Tom!

Thanks to everyone who joined in and after the tennis enjoyed some mulled wine and minced pies in the Club Lounge.
