Our Third Club Towers Spinathon Raises £2,800 in Style!

25 November 2022

Last Saturday over 50 members and instructors joined us for our Charity Spinathon and we are thrilled to announce we raised £2,807 for our member chosen local charities, the Sue Ryder Hospice in Moggerhanger and the Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled in Bromham.  This was our third Spinathon and it didn’t disappoint!  We have lots of thank you’s as it’s those people involved who made it such a big success.

We will start by thanking our awesome instructors who put the programme together and did such a brilliant job on the day! Instructors Jason, Natalie, Elaine, Maija, Hazel, Louise and Dave led the five classes.  They all gave their time for free, so a massive thank you to them.  They, along with Fitness Manager Katy, put together a programme that was filled with enthusiasm, infectious energy, the best music and most importantly was fun.  You could forget how much your legs were aching…..almost!

Next up we would like to thank every member who took part, whether for one class or all five – you all helped make the afternoon so wonderful.  Many members also joined our instructors in fancy dress which we love to see!  We had a penguin, Teletubbies, Superman, Harry Potter, a flamingo and rock stars to name just a few (check out the pictures below).  Thank you for giving your time and energy.  We wanted to give a shout out to those members here:

And finally, thanks to all the staff at the Club who helped pull it all together including the Club Lounge team for the delicious celebratory buffet that we all enjoyed afterwards!

Both charities have been in touch to pass on thanks to members:

“Thank you for supporting us and helping us provide more care for more people.” – Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice.

“Amazing!  Thank you for everyone who took part in the Spinathon over the weekend.  The costumes looked great! Every penny makes a difference.”  – Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled.

This is one of our favourite events which brings members together through exercise and to raise money for our local community. Exercise and fundraising, the perfect “feel-good” recipe!

Here are some pictures which hopefully encapsulate what a special afternoon of fundraising it was.
