Ladies Squash Squad Success
We were delighted to run our first ever Ladies Squash Squad last Sunday. We invited seven intermediate ladies who are established in our competitive box leagues to join coach Sam Morris for a 90-minute session of warm-ups, coaching drills and games. There was much fun, banter and determination on court. Sam also covered the role of a marker too, how to score games and various scenarios for lets and strokes. The ladies who attended were Anthea Eyton-Williams, Elaine Teale, Juliet Johnson, Karen Wright, Liz Balfour, Sophie Cable and Sophie Perry. These are some of their comments afterwards…..
“It was great – thanks” (Elaine)
“I really enjoyed it and found the exercises helpful and very positive. More training and match opportunities would be great. Thanks Sam!” (Anthea)
“A two-team match next time would be great” (Karen)
Thanks ladies! We appreciate your positive feedback, and we aim to schedule more of these sessions in future. This is a great session for our intermediate lady squash players to develop their all-round game in a challenging training and match environment. We are planning for the next session to be Sunday 30th April, please do pop it in the diary now. If you are already in our box leagues and would like to get involved, please contact Steve Adams for further information and to join the group.
Or if you are a complete beginner to Squash but would like to give it a try, we run our Ladies Squash and Prosecco evenings which are a good opportunity to try the sport in a fun social environment. Sessions are free to all members and can be booked at Reception. Our next evening is the 23rd February, 7.15 – 8.45pm.
