Group Exercise Celebrated in Biggest Ever “Fitness in the Bubble”!
Once a year the Fitness team takes over the outdoor tennis courts whilst they are still undercover, and we celebrate group exercise with a two hour mash up class that we affectionately call Fitness in the Bubble! With vast space on the courts, we aren’t limited in numbers and it provides an opportunity for lots of members to come together and have a fun afternoon whilst working out really quite hard! There’s just something really special about doing an activity in such a big group – it really makes you feel good and this year, as with previous years, it did not disappoint!
We started with the juniors and Sophia leading a junior dance class. Over twenty juniors learnt the steps to two dance routines, and they all did really well. We hope they had fun! It certainly looked like they were. For those that did enjoy it and want more, don’t forget Sophia runs a dance class every week in both term and holiday time on Tuesdays from 4.30-5.15pm and this can be booked on the app.
Next up it was the main event, with over 130 members joining us for what we calculate to be our biggest ever group exercise event. Fitness Manager Katy and the Instructor Team took us through a two hour mash up of Body Attack, Body Combat, GRIT Cardio, Zumba, LBT, Circuits, Les Mills Core and Body Balance. Amanda set us off with loads of energy to the sound of Let’s Get Loud from Jennifer Lopez and that we did! Amanda also put her Body Combat hat back on to deliver three awesome tracks for us and the Body Attack Team did not disappoint with Ana, Jayden and Katy (another hat went back on there!) bringing us four fabulous tracks. Sophia helped lead us into ‘Saturday Night’ with her high energy dances and Jayden made sure we ended the afternoon feeling relaxed and stretched with some Body Balance. We have to give a big shout out to Garry who defies age and hip replacements with his vivaciousness and, for those that saw it, super high jumps in his Circuits block! You inspire us all Garry!
Thank you to Katy and the Team for putting together such a brilliant programme; the music was infectious and helped get everyone through the two hours. Hopefully no-one ached too much the next day but if you did, I think you’ll agree it was worth it! And if you joined us in the Club Lounge for a beer or drink afterwards, we imagine it tasted pretty special, and very well earned!
