Generous members raise £900 enjoying cake and coffee!
We would like to say a big thank you to all those who attended our charity cake and coffee morning. Thanks to your generosity, we are delighted to announce we raised a spectacular £902, a new record for one of these events! It’s a wonderful beginning to our fund-raising activities for our member chosen charities: The Tibbs Dementia Foundation and the MS Therapy Centre. Money was raised on the morning through bake sales and fifty percent of all hot drink sales during the morning (donated by the Club).
Many thanks also to all the staff and members who baked for us, along with La Rondine, Missibakes, Gunns Bakery & Heartybites for their donations; it is greatly appreciated and couldn’t be done without you! We had such an huge selection of cakes and sweet treats, enabling us to raise such an impressive amount!
We haven’t held one of our coffee mornings on a Saturday for a while now, but we are glad we did as there was a lovely atmosphere in the Club, a real social feel which was great to see.
For those that aren’t familiar for who we are fundraising for this year, here’s a little about the two charities. The MS Therapy Centre is a self-help organisation, run by people with MS for people with MS.established in 1983, the centre provides the therapies, services and support needed to enable people living with Multiple Sclerosis to self-manage their condition. The centre currently supports over 1,000 people across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
The Tibbs Dementia Foundation’s mission is to support local people to live as well and fully as possible with dementia in their lives, by offering support, information and a wide range of activities and social opportunities. Their model focuses on what people can do, supporting them to find their voice through a range of activities.
We think you will agree they are two very worthwhile charities who make a real difference to the people they support, and we are pleased to have made such a great start for them.

Our next charity fundraising event is our Spinathon, which will take place on the 20th of November 2021 – details will follow very soon. A slightly less relaxing way to support these great causes!
