First Fix Completed, Internal Walls in Place; Tiling to Begin!

Progress on-site continues to be swift, and it is astonishing how much changes from week to week. With only 18 weeks to opening, the pressure is well and truly on.

Outdoor tennis courts

The main structure of the building is now pretty much complete, with windows and external doors in place, and the wooden cladding added. Inside the building, most of the internal walls are now in place, and it is exciting to be able to walk around and see the different internal spaces rather than have to try to visualise them from a plan. The “first fix” is now completed, and the main contractors, Pellikaan, advise me that tiling will begin within about a week.

Outside, the first half of the car park has been laid to base tarmac, and the construction cabins moved onto this part of the site, freeing up the rest of the car park so that the remaining drainage can be laid and the car park completed. On the opposite side of the building, work has begun on the foundations for the four outdoor tennis courts.
