Special Arrangements for Easter Holiday Period (8th~22nd April)
Gym
The gym is open as usual during opening hours. There will be additional parent and junior gym sessions for 12-15 year olds on weekday afternoons from 1.30-4.00pm including the Bank Holidays. Please note that junior members must be supervised in the gym by parents or guardians at all times. The parent and junior family circuits session will continue to run on Saturdays 12-1pm. This is a fun, high energy workout for you and your child, suitable for junior members aged 5 – 13. Bookable at Reception.
Group Exercise Classes
There will be a slightly reduced timetable over the Easter weekend due to lower demand and reduced instructor availability. The timetable can be found here or a handout can be picked up at Reception. Classes will continue to be bookable online or with Reception in the usual way, up to 7 days in advance.
Swimming
The holiday timetable comes into effect from the 8th – 22rd April with additional adult only sessions and lifeguarded sessions. The timetable can be found here
A copy of the timetable can also be picked up from Reception.
The new term for swimming lessons begins on Monday 29th April and bookings are being taken at Reception now.
Racquets
Squash and Tennis Courts remain open to book in the usual way as per the above Club opening hours.
Adult drop in sessions also continue to run throughout the April; these are drills and points on Tuesday and Thursday 10-11am and Doubles Tactics on a Wednesday 10-11am. These sessions can be booked online or with Reception and are £6 per person per session.
The new term for squash and tennis coaching begins on Monday 22nd April and bookings are being taken at Reception now. If you would like to find out more about our tennis coaching which starts from children aged 2.5 please speak to our head coach Nick Boys on 07810 832774 who will be able to tell you more about the sessions and which will be the best for your child(ren). Creche/Kids Club
The Easter Holiday Kids Club starts on Monday 8th April and runs until the 18th April for our junior members aged 4-11. Full day sessions are available for £40 per day, or you can book morning and afternoon sessions for £20 per session. A variety of different activities are provided each day, including Easter arts and crafts, ball games, tennis, squash and cricket. We have limited spaces available for some sessions, so please speak to Reception if you would like to book your children in.
The Creche is open as usual in the morning from 9 – 1pm for our younger junior members from 3 months to 7 years throughout April, except the Easter Weekend. The usual rate of £5 per hour applies and sessions can be booked at Reception as usual.
Special Events
Charity Easter Cake and Coffee Morning – Saturday 13th April
Our popular charity cake and coffee morning is back, so please join us from 9am – 12.30pm. All cake sales and 50% of hot drink sales will be going to our member chosen charities Bedford Open Door and Bedford’s Hospital Charity.
Bashing the Beds Boundary – 20th April
Matt and Ann are taking part in the final leg of local event Bashing the Beds Boundary and will be running 5 miles around the picturesque Picts Hill Estate in Turvey on Easter Saturday. This is a particular challenge for Ann because she really does not like running, so 5 miles is going to be a challenge! Matt has also decided to make the 5 miles slightly more challenging by dressing up as the Easter Bunny! They are doing this to raise money for our member chosen charities Bedford Hospital’s Charity and Bedford Open Door along with the Motor Neurone Disease Association, (MNDA), the charity for which the event has been organised. If you would like to sponsor them, this is the link to their fundraising page.
Spectators are welcome on the day so if you are free and would like to cheer the runners on, please do come along.
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members a very happy Easter and we look forward to seeing you in the Club working off all those Easter eggs!
