Club Towers’ First Match and First Win

26 April 2017

Sunday 23rd April saw the historic first competitive match by a Club Towers team in the men’s Aegon Tennis tournament. The Aegon tournament is a county wide event that offers the winning team a chance to progress onto regional and then national level. One step at a time though!

The match was away to our nearest rivals Riverside Tennis club and the Club Towers side consisting of Cesar Puente and Racquets Manager Nick Boys, traveled the short distance hoping to register a first victory for the club.

On a fantastic sunny morning they started very well with Nick closing out his match comfortably 6-0, 6-0. Cesar then followed this up shortly after with another stunning win in his singles match, also registering a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

The Club Towers pair duly completed the whitewash with a convincing 6-0,  6-2 win in the doubles and ensured the team got off to the best possible start to the season. The next match in this tournament is away to Flitwick and Ampthill tennis club on Sunday 7th May and the side will be hoping for more of the same!

If any members want to come and watch any of the clubs matches all the fixtures can be found on the noticeboard in the racquets corridor.
