Charity Cake and Coffee Morning – Saturday 22nd October

12 October 2022

One of our favourite social events is back – our cake and coffee morning!  Taking place on Saturday 22nd October we will once again be offering a wide variety of delicious home-made cakes, sweet treats and some healthier bites too.  Starting at 9am, it will run until approximately 1pm or until the cakes and goodies have run out!

All monies raised will go directly to newly chosen local charities and the Club will also donate 50% of all hot drink sales.  The two charities voted for by members for this year are the Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled and the Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger.

Whilst the Club continues to be cash free, we will be accepting cash donations on the day and there will be two buckets available for this.  All items will have a suggested donation; we won’t be offering change or charging set amounts.  Card donations can also be made at the Reception desk.

For those that aren’t familiar with the local charities’ work, The Elisabeth Curtis Riding Centre for the Disabled provide therapeutic riding sessions for disabled and special needs participants. Mainly catering for young riders, the centre offers new skills, fitness, confidence building, postural therapy and most importantly fun!  The Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger provides expert care for life-limiting conditions.  They help with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help supporting people through the most difficult times of their lives.

This is our first event for these two extremely worthwhile charities.  If you would be able to support with baking, please do let us know by emailing Lottie on [email protected] or simply support on the day by eating and donating!

We look forward to a coffee and a cake (or two!) in the Club Lounge on Saturday 22nd October.
