Beginners and Improvers Squash and Racketball Courses at Club Towers

We have a great team of Squash and Racketball coaches here at the Club and have in 2022 started running a series of beginner courses which we are pleased to say we are continuing and building upon in 2023.

We will now be offering three-week beginner/improver courses which provide an introduction to the game, the basic rules and techniques. Led by one of our England Squash qualified coaches, the course is perfect for beginners,  early learners and improver players.   They also offer a great opportunity to meet other players. You will cover as a minimum the following aspects of the game:

• Correct grip
• Foundations for a sound swing on forehand and backhand (balance, racquet preparation, swing path, contact point, follow-through, etc.)
• Basic movement patterns around the court
• Game plans
• Rules of the game

The coach will tailor the sessions to the needs of the participants. Equally importantly, they will help you to identify your next steps: the playing opportunities we have at the Club, including social club sessions, box leagues and follow-up private coaching options. There will be no more than 6 members on the course so you will have lots of tailored support from the coach.

The next Beginner Squash Course will run on Saturday 21^st , 28^th January and 4^th February, 2 – 3.30pm.

The next Beginner Racketball Course will run on Saturday 25^th Feb, 4^th and 11^th March, 2 – 3.30pm.

All courses are £40 and spaces can be booked at Reception now. We have racquets available to borrow but please do wear clean, non-marking, indoor shoes.

The courses and tasters are for our racquets members, if you would be interested in taking up squash and becoming a racquets members you can do so at Reception.

For a ladies’ only and social beginners introduction to Squash, we have our Ladies Squash and Prosecco evenings. The next date is Thursday 23^rd February 2023 from 5.45pm to 7.15pm and booking will open in the New Year, do look out for details in the Club nearer the time. These free evenings are open to all members.
