Bashing the Beds Boundary – An Easter Weekend Run for Charity
The Rotary Club of Bedford Park is supporting a major run this Easter Weekend, in aid of the fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND). At Club Towers, we would like to support this great initiative, and have agreed with the organisers that all funds raised by members can be split between our two supported charities: Bedford Open Door and Bedford Hospital’s Charity, and the fight against MND.
The charity run comprises two parts:
- A 145 mile team relay run, taking roughly 24 hours, around the boundary of Bedfordshire. The run will be done in teams, and we hope to put a Club Towers team in for this so please let us know if you are interested. Realistically you will need to be able to run at least ten miles to make the logistics work and be prepared to raise some sponsorship!
- A 5 mile “final leg” at the end of the event at the picturesque Picts Hill House Estate in Turvey. This is open to as many runners as want to take part, so please do let us know if you wish to run on April 20th and we can give you the details. It should be a real party atmosphere!
Why not make one of these runs part of your motivation to train during the next quarter and support these great causes at the same time? Club Towers will pay the relay team entry fees and will also refund the entry fees of any individual runners who raise more than £50 in sponsorship for the charities.
If you are interested in taking part, please initially email [email protected] and indicate which run (relay team or individual 5 mile) you wish to take part in. We can then give you more information about the event and how to sign up.
More information about the event can be found at the website: www.bedsboundarybash.co.uk
And you can watch a video about the event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=MqQJxdr-spA
I hope to see you there, so I’d better start training!
