Adult 3-Week Beginner Squash Course Starts 22nd April.
Are you a racquets member looking to learn the basics of Squash and how to progress your game to the next level? Or recently completed one of our courses and looking for a follow up? Or are you a non-racquets member interested in giving it a go? It is quick and easy to upgrade to Racquets membership – simply enquire at Reception.
These three-week courses provide an introduction to the game, the basic rules and techniques. Led by one of our England Squash qualified coaches, the course is perfect for beginners and early learners. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other players. You will cover the following aspects of the game:
- Correct grip
- Foundations for a sound swing on forehand and backhand (balance, racquet preparation, swing path, contact point, follow-through, etc.)
- Basic movement patterns around the court
- Game plans
- Rules of the game
The coach will tailor the sessions to the needs of the participants. Equally importantly, they will help you to identify your next steps: the playing opportunities we have at the Club, including social club sessions, box leagues and follow-up private coaching options. There will be no more than 6 members on the course so you will have lots of tailored support from the coach.
The next Beginner Squash Course will run on Saturday 22nd and 29th April and 6th May.
It is great value at just £40 and spaces can be booked at Reception now. Payment is required up-front and covers all four weeks. We will run these courses three times per year.
We have racquets available to borrow but please do wear clean, non-marking, indoor shoes.
Similar beginners’ courses for Racketball alternate with the Squash courses three times of year. You can book ahead for these courses at Reception now or email Steve Adams (see below). We will then be in touch near to the start of each course as a reminder.
We have other opportunities to get involved with Squash and Racketball at the Club. You can request a free one-off taster from coach Ed Norris to whet your appetite in either game.
Or ladies might like to try one of our regular Ladies Squash and Prosecco nights. The next date is Thursday 18th May from 5.45pm to 7.15pm.
Contact Steve Adams (Racquets Operations Manager) at [email protected] for more information or advise on any of the above.BACK TO EVENTS
