Winners Rewarded for Consistency – 2024 Box League Race Results
Our 2024 Tennis, Squash and Racketball Box League Races ended on 12th January and the final results are now confirmed below. All players in the leagues accumulated points throughout the whole year across eight cycles. Regardless of ability, the aim of the race is to reward players for playing as many games as possible through the year and to excel at their respective level.
Participation remains high in our Singles leagues, with 13 divisions in the Squash league, 10 divisions in Tennis and 5 in Racketball. Last year we started a Mixed Doubles tennis league too, which is also popular. It is great to see so many players at all levels eager to play their games too, hungry to rise up the leagues and to accumulate points through the year. The final standings show how close it was, literally right to the wire of the last games in some cases. Particularly in the Squash Race. It was equally pleasing to see players from all divisions chasing hard to win points all year round.
The top five in each race were ….
Tennis – Singles
Winner | George Swallow | 134 Points |
Runner - Up | Garry Morris | 119 Points |
3rd Place | Sam Filipczak | 118 Points |
4th Place | Tom Hall | 89 Points |

Congratulations George! A very deserving winner following your runners-up position in 2023.

Runner - Up | Ian Thomas | 165 Points |
3rd Place | Matt Towers | 157 Points |
4th Place | Paul Nicholls | 156 Points |
5th Place | Alex Smallwood | 154 Points |
Well done Jonathan! From reaching division one a year ago, it is a fantastic achievement to score so many points at this level. Bad luck to Ian, narrowly pipped by just two points – made even more impressive by not relying on any walkover points.

Winner | Sam Morris | 186 Points |
Runner - Up | Athar Ahmed | 143 Points |
3rd | Steve Barlow | 141 Points |
4th | Ian Thomas | 139 Points |

Last year’s winner and runner- up switched positions in the Racketball race, with Sam consistently accumulating points from playing nearly all his matches through all 8 cycles.

Especially big thanks go to all 167 box league competitors who scored points in all four leagues. The full list of results can be found here.
