Why I love Love Squash TV by Matt T

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) has really got its act together in the last five years, developing a superb global tour, with tiered events and a clear pathway for the pros to advance and earn a living from the game. The problem for fans in the UK is that there is limited coverage

on mainstream channels. TNT (formerly BT Sport) televise the latter stages of the occasional tournament, but coverage is generally sporadic and content is rarely advertised widely in advance and so is easy to miss.

Squash TV fills that gap and if you enjoy watching sport on TV, and you like squash, then you will love Squash TV! www.squash.tv

What do I like about it?

  • Every round of every major global squash tournament is covered – men and women.
  • I can watch matches live, but also watch them on catch-up later if you want. This is great if the tournaments are US- or Asia-based and hence at unsociable UK hours.
  • I can view the upcoming schedule and plan which matches interest me.
  • The cost is just £90 p.a. (that’s just £7.50 per month). Better still, if you are an individual England Squash member on a Play Plus, Junior or Coach plan, you get a 50% discount on this cost (70% for new subscribers) – an absolute bargain!
  • I can share the coverage with my son Jonathan, who also loves to watch the top pros in action (we cannot both log in at the same time).

The quality of the coverage now is really good, with excellent commentary and slo-mo shots that capture much better the skill and athleticism of the players, and (occasionally!) some insightful analysis on the tactics and strategies of the top players. I have the App on my phone but tend to port the coverage onto my large screen OLED TV which gives beautiful picture quality, making tracking the ball on the glass court very easy (not like the old days!). If you want some advice on the best ways to do this, just ask.

So there you have it. Get signed up as an individual Play Plus England Squash Member (£25 p.a.) and get all the squash on TV you can consume for just £3.75/month – what is not to like?!!
