Wellness Week – Recap of a Week Well Spent
We hope you are feeling great after our annual Wellness Week! Over 150 members joined us this year, at classes and seminars which included a menopause talk, cardio racketball, a seminar on women and exercise, nutrition consultations, a sound bath and Pilates for men to name just a few. Our theme was “future proofing your health and trying something new”; if you attended a session, we hope this was the case for you and you found it useful and/or it has added something to your fitness routine.
Here is a short recap of the sessions, where we also highlight some ongoing opportunities available to you.
Nutrition Consultations
Several members booked a free consultation with our inhouse Nutrition and Wellness Coach Ann and were able to discuss their lifestyle and eating habits and ask any questions they had. If you didn’t manage to get a spot, don’t forget we have our Nutrition Info Hub on our website which has a wealth of useful information.
Menopause Talk – Guest Speaker Dr Asad
We had a packed room for this fascinating and insightful talk from our guest speaker Dr Asad. She and nutrition coach Ann have written a round-up of notes from the evening – useful for those who attended and those who couldn’t make it too. You can read them all here.
Strength Training
Expert PT Neeraj specialises in resistance training and ran a small group class, with participants eager to learn more and with lots of questions which Neeraj was able to answer. If you missed it but do have your own questions, Neeraj can be contacted here. For those looking to take their strength training to the next level, he runs an advanced course a few times a year. The next one starts w/c 20th October and you can read more about that here.
Movement and Mobility Class
In the middle of the week we celebrated National Fitness Day. Every day for us is National Fitness Day but the national celebration is always one we like to join in with and this year’s theme – “Powered by You” – is one that we couldn’t agree more with. This theme emphasizes that everyone has the power to make physical activity a part of their lives. To mark the day we had challenges in the gym and we shared one of our most popular classes, expert PT Mark’s Movement and Mobility. This class is suitable for all levels, available for all and can be shared with friends and family via this link. We also have a number of Mark’s classes in the “On Demand” section of Club Towers Live for members to access at a time that suits them.
Women and Exercise
Expert PT Maija passionately led us through some really interesting slides on this topic and then offered members the chance to ask lots of questions at the end. Maija would be happy to share the slides or discuss any topics with women who missed the session. You can contact Maija here.
Cardio Racketball
Cardio tennis on a Saturday morning is a really popular class with racquets members and non-tennis players alike! So, coach Sam Morris thought we’d see if the basics that work for cardio tennis could be transferred onto the squash courts and they absolutely could! Everyone had a great workout and we’ve had some excellent feedback for it.
Pilates for Men
Pilates is awesome – we love it! It has so many benefits for all fitness levels and definitely supports other exercise, be it running, on a court or a bike!
It’s so great we run over fifteen Pilates classes every single week. We also live stream it on Club Towers Live with classes also available on demand. Whilst there isn’t a specific male class, men are very welcome at all our classes!
Les Mills Launch
We run over forty Les Mills classes each week across our six very popular programs from Body Pump to Body Balance. Our fabulous instructor team rolled out the penultimate releases of 2025 for our members over our weekend launch. With new music, new moves and innovations, there is always something for everyone and a great chance for those new to Les Mills to join one of the amazing workouts whilst even the regulars are learning the new routines.
Soundbath
We ended the week with a first for the Club with a fully booked sound bath in the holistic studio – a fitting end to a brilliant week!
A huge thanks goes to our instructors, PTs and guest speakers for such informative and useful sessions.
As always if you have any thoughts, feedback or suggestions for next year, we’d love to hear them, please send through to [email protected].
