The Club Towers 2026 Charity Spinathon

20 November 2025

We are excited to share details of our first fundraising event for 2026, the Club Towers Charity Spinathon! Taking place on Saturday 7th February between 1pm and 6pm we are asking members to join us on the group exercise bikes to raise money for our members’ chosen charities, Above and Beyond Cancer Foundation and Mind BLMK.

The Programme

There will be five consecutive 45-minute spin classes, with 15-minute breaks in between, led by our fantastic instructors.  Fancy dress is very much encouraged for each class, whatever you fancy!

1.00-1.45pm Magical Mystery Tour!

A Scooby Doo themed fartlek style session with Hazel and Louise – follow the list of clues to solve the crime. This session’s intensity will depend on the participants clue solving abilities!

2.00-2.45pm Smooth and Beats!

Suited (and booted!) Dave will be joined by Raver Jason for a fartlek session, bringing a mix of iconic music tracks to keep you peddling hard!

3.00-3.45pm The Big Spinathon Quiz!

A ride determined by answers with our very own Quizmaster Jayden! Get it right – get a reward, get it wrong – pay the price! No response – the whole group suffers!

4.00-4.45pm Dance Dynamic Climb – taking you to new levels!

45 minutes of euphoric hill climbing and intervals with Matt, challenging you to reach new heights!

 5.00-5.45pm Fast and Funky!

The big finale takes us through to the end with Dave and Nat, delivering high energy and soulful interval training!

Each class will be suitable for beginners right through to experienced cyclists with levels available for all, guided by the instructors.

Throughout the afternoon and between classes refreshments will be provided to keep us all energised and raring to go and we would also like to invite everyone who takes part to a celebratory buffet in the Club Lounge afterwards, at around 6pm.

How to Get Involved

There are two ways to get involved again this year:

Charity Place

Following on from the success of last year, we are pleased to be able to offer a small number of charity bikes again. If you would like one of these, there is no charge for the classes but we ask that you pledge to raise a minimum of £250 by the 7th February for your bike.  If you book one of these bikes, you commit to doing all five classes and meeting the fundraising commitment.

Book per Class

If you’d prefer to donate yourself per class, each class is £20 per rider, and you can book as few or as many as you would like.

To Secure your Place……

For those looking to challenge themselves and book all five classes, or one of the charity places, we would like to offer you a one-week priority booking window from the 24th November, You will also be able to request your bike and position in the studio. Whilst we can’t guarantee this, we will do our very best to meet all requests. Those completing all five classes will also be presented with a Club Towers Spinathon medal!  All other bookings will open on the 1st December.

To book, please email Jo on [email protected] with your name and which of the above classes you would like to book. Jo or one of the team will then be in touch to take your payment and confirm your place. Places are booked on a first come, first served basis.

Who are we raising funds for?

We are hoping to raise as much money as we can for Above and Beyond Cancer Foundation and Mind BLMK and every penny we raise goes to them! These two charities were chosen by members to receive our support this year, but for those that aren’t familiar with their work here’s a little about what they do and who they help.

Above & Beyond Cancer Foundation was established in 2012 by Karen and Jayne, two women who met and supported each other through their own diagnoses.  The charity provides compassionate 1:1 personal support, resources, and encouragement to cancer patients and their loved ones. Their mission is to address the emotional, physical, and mental toll of a cancer diagnosis, delivering support directly to patients in non-clinical settings such as homes or local venues. In addition, they provide, organise and fund individual holistic therapies as well as delivering holistic and wellbeing events. They want to make sure that no cancer patient feels alone and that they have someone walking beside them, wherever possible, from the point of diagnosis.

Mind BLMK is a local charity that works across our communities to support positive mental health and wellbeing. They offer a range of activities at wellbeing centres and other venues to make a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of local people.  Their aim is to make sure that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone. You can read their 2024 impact report here. It will give you a real feel of what they do and how they help people.

Additional Fundraising

For those riders taking part, we would also encourage you to ask friends and family to sponsor you and we will provide a fundraising link when you book your bikes.

Instructors are giving their time for free to help us raise as much as possible (a great BIG thank you to them!) and the Club is covering all other costs, so all money paid for sessions or donated goes directly to the charities.

We look forward to seeing you all in the group cycle studio and on the bikes as we work together to raise funds for your chosen charities.

For further information or any queries, please speak with your group cycle instructor or email Jo or Katy at the addresses provided below.
