Play your way to Wimbledon! (Adults & Juniors)

We are excited to announce that this year we will be taking part in the national “Play your Way to Wimbledon” competition. This is organised by the LTA and designed to give club-standard players the chance to win through to play at the All England Lawn Tennis Club – which would be an amazing experience! The competition is open to all adult and junior tennis members and comprises a three-stage process. The three stages are:  

Venue Stage

A closed tournament at Club Towers (completed by 24th May latest). Winners of all Bedfordshire venue stages will be invited to compete at the County Stage in June/July. Runners-up could be invited too.

County/Area Stage

Adults to meet at Flitwick Tennis Club (or alternative venue) on 22nd June. Details to be confirmed. Winners of all County/Area stages will be invited to compete at the National Finals in June/July. Runners-up could be invited too.

National Finals

Hosted at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Aorangi Park from 3rd to 9th August.

Winners from each County / Area Stage come together to compete for the PYWTW title.  

At Club Towers we will run four age groups in our own venue stage event ….

1. Adults Men’s (Age 19+) Doubles
2. Adults Ladies (Age 19+) Doubles
3. 14U Boys Singles (age 11 to 14)
4. 14U Girls Singles  (age 11 to 14)

Note that next year we hope to run age 11 to 18 Junior Doubles events too, but for this year you would need to enter a venue stage at one of the other Bedfordshire clubs. Please contact steve.adams@clubtowers for more information if you are interested.

Who Can Enter?

All adult and junior Club Towers racquets members are eligible to enter provided they are registered LTA Advantage PLAY members, which automatically gives them a World Tennis Number (WTN) ranking. LTA Advantage PLAY is free and very quick and easy to join here: https://www.lta.org.uk/advantage/

Adults

Enter yourself and your partner on the enrolment sheet on the tennis noticeboard in the squash corridor from 19th February

Entry deadline is 24th March

All players must be born in 2006 or earlier and must have a WTN between 25.0 and 40.9. If this is your first LTA tournament you will automatically be assigned a ranking of 40.9

You must remain with the same partner for the entirety of the competition. If your doubles partner is unable to compete at the County/Area or National Finals, then the pair will be withdrawn

Our Venue matches will be played between the end of March and 24th May

Juniors

We will invite entries in late March. Look out for more information in due course

All players must be born between 2011 and 2014 and must have a WTN between 32.0 and 40.9. If this is your first LTA tournament you will automatically be assigned a ranking of 40.9

SAVE THE DATE – we will run a one-day 14U event on Saturday 26th April

The County stage 14U finals will be played at Flitwick on Tuesday 29th July
