Over £5,600 Raised at Feelgood Charity Spinathon
We are absolutely delighted to share that our charity Spinathon last weekend raised an incredible £5,625 (including Gift Aid)! This was our sixth Spinathon and it exceeded all expectations — which were already high following the success of previous years. This year, our member-chosen charities are Above and Beyond Cancer Foundation and Mind BLMK, and this fantastic total will be split equally between them as part of our fundraising activities for the year.
We had a record-breaking eighteen members take on the challenge of all five classes, and with over forty members joining us throughout the event, the afternoon perfectly showcased the strength of our Club Towers community spirit.
As always, we are filled with gratitude and have so many people to thank. First and foremost, our wonderful instructors — Hazel, Louise, Nat, Jason, Dave, Matt and Jayden — who pulled the entire programme together. Without them, the event simply could not run. They generously give their time not only on the day itself, but also through the many hours of preparation beforehand. The classes were brilliantly put together, with awesome music to keep everyone motivated and those legs moving!
Among the many highlights, Jayden turned class three into a quiz extravaganza, while Hazel and Louise delivered a mystery tour in full character — Scooby Doo and a fabulously glamorous Thelma! Matt took us skiing through the hills. Dave and Jason powered the room with brilliant tunes, looking as sharp as ever, and Nat completed the line-up with gorgeous futuristic vibes!
The creativity didn’t stop there. There were some incredible outfits, and our master crafters truly outdid themselves with their “Mystery Machines”. As you’ll see from the photo below, they were absolutely superb — complete with remote control lights! Not only do they spend so much time making them, but they also kindly donate them to our Crèche afterwards, where the children are now thoroughly enjoying them.

As mentioned, a record eighteen members signed up to complete all five classes — and every single one of them smashed it! While we aim to make it as fun as possible, it is still a serious physical challenge and no small feat. So, special shout-outs to:
Janet Ainsworth,Nick Baker, Sandra Brunetti, Rosie Curzon, Sharon Facey, Karen Ford, Jackie Harvey, Jake Joyce, Graham Moore, Jo Philimore, Jacqueline Ross, Jonathan Ross, Emma Stopford, Natalie Tillett, Pete Ward, Di Webley, Bex Whitely and Keren Wilkins.

Many of them not only donated themselves but also raised sponsorship from family and friends, helping us reach such an incredible total. A huge thank you to them — and to everyone who took part, whether you joined us for one class or all five. We are truly grateful for your support, your generosity and your time.
We were also pleased to welcome Sam Yates from Above and Beyond and Claire Bruce from Mind BLMK, who both joined us during class two. Claire shared the following message:
“A huge thank you to Club Towers and all those who organised, took part in and supported the Spinathon. It was such a fantastic, fun and creative event. My legs have just about recovered! What a wonderful job everyone did with their outfits — there had clearly been lots of effort and thought put into them, not to mention the fabulous lights on the Mystery Machines! We are hugely grateful to everyone at Club Towers for supporting Mind BLMK. The money raised goes towards supporting our mental health and wellbeing services across our local communities. Our aim is to make sure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone — and your support helps us in working towards that.”

Finally, thank you to all members, friends and family who donated either in the Club or via our GiveWheel page. If you’ve been inspired by those who took to the bikes, it’s not too late to donate — you can do so via our GiveWheel page here or at Reception in the Club.
We’ve included just a few photos from the afternoon below, with many more available on our Facebook page. If you’d like a copy of any images, please contact Jo at [email protected].
We’ve also shared a video that really captures the spirit of the day — including a heartfelt message from instructor Dave about the difference these charities make.
Thank you once again to everyone who made this event so special.
