Club Towers Swimming Lessons – Parent’s Guide

We want your child’s swimming experience to be smooth, enjoyable, and safe so we’ve put together a helpful overview of what to expect when attending lessons here at the Club.

What to Bring to Each Lesson:

  • Swimming costume, swim suit or trunks. Swim nappy if appropriate.
  • Towel
  • Goggles (optional, but recommended)
  • Swim cap (optional) or hair tied up if they have long hair.
  • Any required medication (e.g. inhalers, EpiPens) — clearly labelled and handed to the instructor before the lesson

Where to Go:

  • Please arrive at the poolside no more than 5 minutes before your lesson start time.
  • Children should be changed and ready to swim when they arrive, please also ensure the junior has had a shower before attending their lesson. Changing rooms are located just off reception, with lockers available.

Drop-Off & Collection:

  • A parent/guardian must escort their child to poolside and remain on site during the lesson.
  • Children should be collected promptly at the end of their session, from the poolside.

Lesson Duration:

  • All group lessons run for 30 minutes, unless otherwise stated.
  • Please ensure your child has visited the toilet beforehand and is ready to begin on time.

Medication:

  • If your child needs medication such as an inhaler or EpiPen, it must be brought to every lesson.
  • Please hand it to the instructor at the start of the session and collect it again at the end.

Pool Lane Setup During Lessons:

  • During lessons, half of the pool is reserved for our swimming programme.
  • The other half remains open for general swimming, so lessons run alongside regular pool use.
  • This setup allows us to make efficient use of the space while maintaining a focused environment for learning.

 Supervision Rules:

  • Parents/guardians must stay within the Club for the duration of the lesson, we recommend staying in the Club Lounge, to view the lesson through the viewing area for added reassurance and if the junior needs a trip to the toilet etc.

Non-Member Swim Passes

If a non-member (such as a grandparent or guardian) will be accompanying your child to lessons, we offer term-long Swim Passes for convenience:

  • Adult Pass: £15
  • Junior Pass: £5

These passes are valid for the full term and allow entry for one person per week during lesson times only. Passes are transferable between guardians, making them a flexible option for families. To avoid delays at Reception, we recommend arranging these in advance by emailing [email protected]

Note on 1:1 Lessons During General Swim

Please be aware that 1:1 swim lessons may take place during general swim times. These lessons are primarily held in the general swim section. When the pool is quieter, teachers may also make use of the lane. All instructors are mindful to minimise disruption and ensure a positive experience for all pool users.
